Dr Fu is an associate researcher to the Tobacco Control Unit at the Catalan Institute of Oncology, WHO Collaborating Center for Tobacco Control. She is an adjunct lecturer to the Department of Public Health, Mental Health and Perinatal Nursing of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Barcelona. She is also a member of the Tobacco Control research group at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute and the Tobacco Working Group at the Spanish Society of Epidemiology.

Dr Fu holds a degree in Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile (1998). She received a Doctoral degree from the University of Barcelona in 2011. She worked in clinical and community psychology in psychological assessment and psychosocial intervention with vulnerable groups. Subsequently, she began her research training and joined the Tobacco Control Unit in 2004.

Her research areas are the epidemiology, prevention and control of tobacco and electronic cigarettes, as well as the measurement of passive exposure. She also teaches undergraduate and continuing education courses. Her scientific contribution includes a hundred indexed articles. She has participated in diverse national and international high-profile research projects.
