IDIBELL

Nuria Vives is a physician specializing in Preventive Medicine and Public Health (2004) and Master in Public Health from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2004). For fifteen years she has been working on systems for monitoring and evaluation of population health programs as well as in research applied to improve its functioning.

Currently, her main areas of work in population programmes for early detection of cancer are:

  • Optimize the information systems for monitoring the process and results of early cancer screening programs.
  • Identify interventions, tools and/or services to be modified to improve the outcome of early cancer screening programmes.
  • The use of innovative methods to improve the effectiveness of early cancer screening programs.
  • Identify barriers and determinants of access in population cancer programs.

She has been an associate professor of preventive medicine and epidemiology of the Degree of Medicine and the Degree of Biomedical Sciences to the Teaching Unit of the University Hospital Germans Trias y Pujol (Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona) between 2015-2018.
