IDIBELL

Yolanda Valverde, graduated in nursing (1989), she has more than 30 years of healthcare experience. In 2004 she completed her postgraduate degree in cancer nursing.

She joined the Catalan Institute of Oncology in 1996 with the Clinical Hematology Service and later the Continuing Care Support Unit.

In 2005 she began to be part of the Functional Unit of Mama as a Clinical Nurse of Advanced Practice being the reference for women diagnosed with breast cancer, case manager, follow-up, and accompaniment throughout the continuum of care.

Since 2019 she is Nurse Case Manager of the Technical-ICO Office of the breast cancer early detection program where she identifies and evaluates nurse care in screening and does quality control of the different processes.

In addition to her healthcare experience, she has collaborated as a teacher in the Department of Fundamental and Medical-Surgical Nursing of the nursing school of the UB, of the UIC, and with the Master of Oncology Nursing ICO/UB. She has been a teacher of the ICO Health Education Sessions, training of ASSIR staff and healthcare of the hospitals of the Catalan Institute of Health.

She has participated in National Oncology Nursing, Synology and Breast Pathology Congresses, Courses and Days, and Psychooncology and won the 1st Award for Best Oral Communication of the National Breast Congress in 2013.

She has been part of the Multidisciplinary Group Breast Cancer Protocol, and has developed Nursing Protocols and Guides.

In relation to research, she has collaborated in research projects, mainly clinical trials and is co-authored in different scientific and outreach studies.
