The Breast Screening participates in the European Comission Initiative for Breast Cancer

The Breast Screening Unit is participating in a study by the European Commission Initiative for Breast Cancer to test an accreditation system for breast cancer care services.

The study, organized in collaboration with the European co-operation for Accreditation, consists of the participation of 8 centers from different countries, and aims to evaluate a proposal of indicators and evidence of the entire continuum of care. ICO’s participation is focused on the screening process.

The study has included a visit to the Screening Unit by members of the National Accreditation Entity, the Andalusian Health Quality Agency and members of the Spanish Society of Senology and Breast Pathology.
