Renewal of the mammography fleet of the Breast Cancer Screening Program at ICO

The Radiology Units of Breast Cancer Screening Program have renewed the mammography machines they used for the early detection of cancer by others of the latest generation, donated by the Amancio Ortega Foundation. The new mammography machines, of higher quality, are equipped with tomosynthesis. This new technology will allow, in some cases, to obtain images in 3 dimensions with which radiologists will be able to identify more clearly if there is any change in breast density or if there are calcifications that may suggest breast cancer.
