Degree in medicine and surgery by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 1983. Master of public health by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in 1998. Specialist in preventive medicine and public health by the UAB in 2002. Epidemiologist by the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET) in 2004. PhD in preventive medicine and public health by the UAB in 2015.

She has worked in the Health Protection Agency of United Kingdom as a locum Consultant of communicable disease control (CCDC) doing epidemiological surveillance and outbreak detection and control. Worked with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in development and assessment of humanitarian projects. Also worked as a consultant for poliomyelitis eradication for the World Health Organization (WHO). Most recently, in Catalonia, she has done operational research related with maternal and child health and sexually transmitted infections.

Currently, she is co-researcher of projects related with sexually transmitted infections in primary health care centres of the Institut Català de la Salut (ICS) and the Primary Health Care Research Institut (IDIAP-Jordi Gol). She works in the Tobacco Control Unit (UCT) located at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) and participates in the “Joint Action on Tobacco Control ‘ 3rd program of the European Comission, 2016-2019.
