Marco is a dentist and specialist in oral and maxillofacial radiology at the University of Chile, Master in Public Health from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona. In 2014 he obtained his PhD in Biomedicine also at UPF. Until August 2019 he served as Academic Director of the Specialization Program in Public Health of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Chile.
As an academic, he is a member of the Tobacco or Health Citizen Bureau in Chile, which advocates policies for tobacco control in that country.
His interests include oral health, health inequalities, the development of tobacco control policies and the implementation of interventions for the prevention and cessation of tobacco consumption.
