The GNTH – Global Network of Tobacco Free Healthcare Services

The GNTH – Global Network of Tobacco Free Healthcare Services is an independent, international, non-profit association that was formed to facilitate action on tobacco within healthcare services.

It commenced as a European funded project (European Network of Smokefree Healthcare Services – ENSH in 1999), and has since expanded to involve healthcare services globally from 2009.

The organisation was registered initially under Belgian law (as ENSH-Global) and reconstituted as the Global Network (GNTH) under Swiss law in 2015.

The Global Network represents healthcare services that are committed to implementing tobacco-free policies with the aim of delivering safe quality care in relation to tobacco for every service user, every time and everywhere.

The Catalan Smoke Free Hospitals Network was the Coordinator Centre of the  ENSH between 2009 and 2014.
