Esteve Fernández has been appointed as the new president of the Advisory Council on Smoking in Catalonia.

The Head of the Tobacco Control Unit of the Catalan Institute of Oncology, Esteve Fernández, has been appointed by the Minister of Health as the new president of the Advisory Council on Smoking in Catalonia.

The Advisory Council on Smoking in Catalonia aims to advise and promote different actions to prevent and control smoking in our country. It can propose specific studies in order to know the determinants of smoking and offer keys for its control. In addition, it also promotes the training of health professionals in smoking and sensitizing of the population about the negative consequences of tobacco for health.
